About Me

I’m Alexa. I think it’s pretty weird how Meet the Press is brought to us by Boeing. I like to talk about income inequality a lot and that’s probably because I grew up on the good end of it and I’m disturbed by it. I think that if we really want to transform our democracy, we have to transform the way we think about it first. That’s what this blog is for. I think the world is changing in fascinating ways and that political analysts only talk about it in technical and obvious ones. I think that people are bottomless wells of interesting regardless of political party and that this is a reason to talk about politics deeper and better, not to say that we should just let it all go and enjoy our quiet lives together.

If you want someone who’s going to challenge you to think about politics differently, if you want someone that’s going to take you deeper than the op-ed section, if you want a perspective you can chew on a little after you’ve read it…

Then you should follow my blog.

Since you MIGHT want some practical information too…

I’m a 25-year-old journalism student at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in NYC. This blog will disqualify me from a job at CNN and not gonna lie, I’m very okay with that. I want to expose economic injustice, the type of economic injustice that they don’t talk about on mainstream media. I went to Middlebury College in Vermont. I’m from Los Angeles but I wear a lot of cowboy boots. I plan to write essays and perform them like David Sedaris. And I’m really, REALLY happy you’re here.
